Maundy Thursday

Thursday, March 28th

9:00 am - Morning Prayer

5:30 pm - Christian Seder in the Great Hall. As Christians, we commemorate this Jewish ritual which was practiced by Jesus and his disciples at what we know as the "Last Supper."  We learn about Passover and how it connects to Jesus' life and lessons.

7:30 pm - Holy Eucharist, Foot Washing, and the Stripping of the Altar - On the night before his death, Jesus set an example for his disciples by washing their feet, an act of humble service. Our Maundy Thursday Eucharist brings us to this moment is Jesus' days before his death.

The priest will wash the Eucharistic Ministers’ feet first. Then, those who have had their feet washed will wash the next person’s feet, and so on. The priest will have his feet washed last. Please be prepared to remove one sock and shoe.

The service finishes with the stripping of the altar to the chanting of Psalm 22. Then all leave in silence.

Good Friday

Friday, March 29th

9:00 am - Morning Prayer

7:00 pm - Stations of the Cross. We walk through our beautiful church visiting each of the 14 stations on Jesus' journey to the Cross on the day of his death, praying along the way.

7:30 pm - Good Friday Service. We enter in silence. In this somber service bringing us to the foot of the Cross with a dramatic reading of the Gospel, a cantor leads us through the crucifiction of Jesus. Candles are extinguished, and we leave in silence.
